REVOLUTiON Emulator (Linux)

Tags: rev-emu, linux

Overview

The REVOLUTiON Emulator is used to make dedicated servers accessible to users whom do not have access to the game. This site is about the Linux version of the emulator. The process is also called 'cracking' the server or making it 'non-Steam'.

Installation

  • Rename original steamclient.so to steamclient_valve.so.
  • Extract the archive into the root folder. [If it is a GoldSource game, (CS, CZ, etc.) all files from BIN folder, should be moved to the root folder.]
  • Go into the "bin" folder and rename one of the steamclient_*.so files that was extracted from the archive, to steamclient.so.
  • Two versions of steamclient.so are provided in the archive,  for 2 versions of GLIBC respectively. The user chooses which one they need according to their configuration. If one does not work when you rename it, try the other.
